I am going to Vietnam to apply for the non b visa for work, then I will go back to Thailand afterwards.

Read online that its only online now, and you have to be outside of Thailand when you do it, my question is, how would they know if I am outside Thailand or not? (Being that its all done online)

I read that it may be possible that they call you in for an in person interview, but, many people said they havent been called for an in person interview. So besides that, how would they know where I am?

Btw, none of the requirements for the non b visa require you to show exit stamp from Thailand or anything of that nature, so im curious if im able to stay in Thailand while I do it, then after a couple weeks, or however long it takes, then i go out and come back in. Am I missing something?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is planning to apply for a non-B visa from Vietnam while currently in Thailand, questioning how authorities can verify his location since the application is online. Comments reveal that proof of current location is required, which may include a passport stamp, accommodation details, and a boarding pass. Some commenters clarify that applying from within Thailand may lead to application rejection, indicating the necessity to be outside Thailand for the application process.

Yes- you are most certainly missing something.

As for your location… do you happen to have a passport? I suspect the answer is yes. In which case, everybody knows where you are

IMPORTANT:

Thai Visa is for entering Thailand. It is therefore issued to those who are outside of Thailand and will visit Thailand. Therefore, your visa application will be rejected if you are already in Thailand during the visa process.

Royal Thai Embassy, Bucharest has the authority to provide visa service only to those who are in Romania and Bulgaria for the entire visa process. Therefore, your visa application will be rejected if you are outside of Romania or Bulgaria.

If you don't upload your entry stamp to Vietnam from your passport, they will e-mail you to ask for it after you submit your application. Then if they become suspicious they will call you for an interview. During that interview, they will examine your passport and if they see you left Vietnam after you submitted your application and returned for the interview, they will cancel your application for having left.

Requirement number 3. This is for the Thai embassy in KL.

I’m assuming it’ll be the same for Vietnam.

You have to provide "proof of current location" - we had to provide our accomodation receipt, passport stamp for Vietnam, and our boarding pass (make sure you keep your boarding pass!)

The online application actually asks for the date stamped in your passport on the day you entered Vietnam.

Part of the application process would be to show your present location (entry stamp to that country and hotel booking etc). If you don’t have those then they’d probably deny the application.

You can try doing it all within Thailand but my guess is that unless you follow their rules it may not work out well for you.
