TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the legitimacy of a message regarding visa extensions for foreigners in Thailand, highlighting challenges in obtaining necessary documentation from various embassies, particularly during travel restrictions. Commenters express concerns about the validity of the information and provide insights on how some embassies are cooperative while others are not, addressing the current situation faced by many expats.
Yes, people can get a document from their Embassy when you can not travel back to the country of origin or for some the country of the passport used to enter Thailand.
At the moment there are ways to travel back to your country, you have two options:
Go back to your country as long as this is possible on the normal way.
Wait till your last day of stay and hope somebody on the Embassy understand your sudden emergency and hands out the letter.
your right at this stage, but mine is up in mid May when there will be no possibility of going home,if all airline reports are correct unless I leave now. This I am reluctant to do..
