Does the Visa on Arrival fee at the airport in Thailand need to be paid exactly, or can I pay with a larger bill and receive change?
Does a $60 fee for the Visa on Arrival at the airport have to be exact or can they give change from $100?
Answer summary
The Visa on Arrival fee of 2000 baht in Thailand must be paid in exact Thai currency. Additionally, be aware that there is often a service charge of 200 baht, making it advisable to have 2200 baht ready for payment.

Sorry is this new? I'm from New Zealand and never had to pay for a visa on arrival

@Dan ******
You're mixing up terminology, There are 53 countries (of which New Zealand is one) who can show up here without a visa in their passport and get stamped in FREE for 30 days
There are 18 countries whose citizens BUY a 15 day visa on arrival for 2000baht when they show up here.

, no, not new, but New Zealand passport holders are NOT eligible for Visa On Arrival. They enter Thailand on visa-exempt scheme.Tod *********
Keep in mind they're also charging most people who buy the 15 day Visa On Arrival a 200 baht "service charge" So have 2200 with you

It must be exact and it must be 2000 baht - only Thai currency
