Hi , my parents-in-law are coming to Thailand from China on visa on arrival for 1 month . Do they need a travel/covid insurance in order to enter Thailand? The Information on the embassy website is inconclusive.

Thank you .

TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus is that your parents-in-law do not need travel or COVID insurance to enter Thailand on a visa on arrival for one month. However, it's important to note that this policy may change after March 31, 2023, when the visa on arrival duration is expected to reduce from 30 days to 15 days. For longer stays, having insurance might be beneficial, as some tourists have encountered requests for it during their visits.

My mother in law holding Chinese passport ,do a travel visa (45days ) and we are extended 30 days , she been in Thailand since January 19th with an insurance (cheap price) last time when we did tourist visa it was requested, my friends from China did arrival visa they can stay only 15 days.

No they don't. The visa on arrival giving 30 days ends March 31, when it goes back to just 15 days. It might be extended but no official word yet.
