Asking on behalf of a citizen of Taiwan entering at Suvarnabuhmi: Does the VOA fee of 2000 baht need to be in Thai baht or is NT$ accepted? How about the proof of 10000 THB funds? Does this need to be in baht or NT$ ok?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Visa on Arrival (VOA) fee of 2000 baht must be paid in Thai baht; no other currencies, including NT$, are accepted. For proof of funds, it can be in any currency, but it must be cash if requested.

Just for clarification for the modern traveller ๐Ÿ˜Ž

It has to be exchangeable currency. Indian rupees, Indonesia rupees, Lao Kip for instance, amongst many others, are closed currencys and as much use as a chocolate Teapot.

Proof of funds can be in any currency. But it needs to be cash if you're ever asked to show it (rarely asked).

VOA is 10k baht

Visa Exempt or Visa = 20k baht

The actual rule is posted about proof of funds is VOA and a visa exempt entry = 10K baht, tourist visa or Non-Immigrant Visa 20K baht.

VOA is 2000 baht only in baht, no credit card or other currency accepted. The 10,000 baht is in any currency (but on this forum most people say that at BKK/DMK 20,000 baht is asked for, if at all).
