Does immigration have DTV details like category and subcategories? At the time of entry or exit do they know whether it is workation or Soft power? I am just curious because it is not mentioned on visa

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion addresses whether Thai immigration has detailed records of DTV visa categories such as workation and soft power. Comments highlight that while not every DTV clearly indicates its purpose, certain remarks on the visa can provide clues to immigration officials. Some respondents mention that immigration may have internal notes that help them identify the specific type of visa being used during entry or exit.

Immagration don't know they will ask you. That information is not in the system from the FADC

Source? They love asking random and obvious questions... That doesn't mean they don't have access to more information than the summary you've on your paper 🤔. That's an assumption.

It’ll be noted internally so they’ll know when they scan the eVisa if it’s a DTV1 (workcation) DTV2 (soft power) or DTV3 (dependant).

Just like how they know that someone has a Non-Immigrant O for something like having Thai family vs retirement vs volunteering.

Anonymous participant 256 they don't know if it's a non-O based on retirement or marriage unless it's mentioned on the visa. Immigration doesn't have access to the MFA computer system. When they scan the QR code they see basically the same stuff that's on the visa.

I don’t understand where people get the notion that visa information is strictly siloed to one Ministry.

As a part of visa process, information about it and the applicant are shared with the Interior Ministry. This is both to show what visa they are applying for and to determine if they are even eligible to enter the country. The MoFA would look quite stupid if they were giving visas to people who are blacklisted or permanently banned from the country.

Immigration does see more details than are provided on the eVisa printout on their screen. They can also see all your previous visas, extensions and entries and departures.

People tend to denigrate Thailand for their tech but their immigration processing system is quite modern and comprehensive.

Anonymous participant 256 Correct, they just don't know. It seems we have a bunch of immigration officers in this group who know exactly how government systems work. Everyone applies for a visa online, and everything goes into a database, yet they still assume they’re dealing with a bunch of dinosaurs when crossing the border.

The ‘remarks’ section will likely be an indicator of the school/class/gym etc for soft power. It can state ‘employment Prohibited’ for workcation. So I think from the remarks the IO will be able to work out what DTV you’re on.

Anonymous participant if that’s all they’ve put then nobody will be able to tell unless it shows specifically on their computer screens what type. Either way you’ll be fine
