My non-b was renewed on this day August 23.. but Pathun Thani immigration is demanding 2,000 baht fine for going over 90 day report. There argument is that I arrived on July 31 and that’s over 3 months. Doesn’t a visa renewal count as a 90 day report?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A visa renewal, such as for a Non-B visa, does not count as a 90-day report in Thailand. According to participant comments, if you arrived in Thailand on July 31, your 90-day report was due on October 25, and you could report it late up to November 1 without incurring a fine. Since the renewal does not reset the 90-day reporting requirement, a fine of 2,000 baht would apply if the report was submitted late.

This comes up quite a lot and happens to more people than you would imagine

Here is a foolproof way to know when you got your extension if they reset your 90 day reporting date

When you get your extension inked in ask yourself; did they give you a new 90 day report receipt with your next report date on it?

If that answer is yes and you have a new 90 day report receipt follow it

If that answer is no and you do not have a 90 day report receipt you use the old one or go by your last entry date to thailand.

The above is not a snarky answer and it's meant with all sincerity, you'll get a new 90 day report receipt IF your office resets it when you get an extension.

nope getting a new extension of stay does NOT count for a 90 day report,

If you stamped in to thailand on July 31st your 90 day report was due on Oct 25 and you can report up to a 7 days late so the latest date you could have reported without a fine would have been Nov 1.

After that it doesn't mater if you're 8 days late or 8 months late on it, you pay the 2000baht fine.

only the very first time that you get a yearly extension starts the 90 day cycle and they put the paper in your passport telling you when your first report date it, after that it just keeps running no matter when you get your extension
