Do I Need to Report for 90-Day Immigration with a Tourist Visa Before Switching to Non-B?

Nov 10, 2019
Hi, I have a question about the 90 day reporting to immigration. I got a 60-day tourist visa and entered Thailand on the 30th August 2019. Then, I got a 30-day extension on the 25th October 2019. Tomorrow, I will get my Non- B visa which will last for 3 months. I have been told that as I am on a tourist visa I do not need to report for the 90 days, and that the 90 days will start once I get my non-B. Is this correct? I will ask the officers at immigration tomorrow, but I just want to make sure that the information that I'm given from them is the same information that is known by the administration team. Thanks for your help

TLDR : Answer Summary
A tourist visa does not require 90-day reporting. Reporting begins once you obtain a long-term visa, such as a Non-B, and you will only need to report after you've received a year extension.

when you switch to 90 day Non-B, you still won't do a 90 day report until you get your year extension, then they will put a paper in your passport that says when you do your FIRST 90 day report.

the paper will look like this

you don't do 90 day reporting on a tourist visa, only on a long term extension
