Hello Good evening!

Can I ask, in my case my friend will need to transfer school by the month of June.

The employer needs to cancel it right? She have work permit and non b visa and it will expire on August 15.. She will apply to other school.. Is she covered with visa amnesty? As it says, until July 31 right? Like no need for her to have border run? What is the process? Any advice base on experience?

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat wishing to transfer schools while on a Non-B visa and work permit will need to cancel her current work permit and extension of stay associated with employment. She can remain in Thailand under visa amnesty until July 31 but cannot work during this period. The process involves taking her work permit and resignation letter to the labor office to cancel her work permit, and then to the immigration office to cancel her extension of stay. After that, she can reapply for a work permit with her new employer.

She can probably transfer it with approval from both schools.. cancel the visa and immediately apply for an extension based on working for the new employer.

The logistics are extremely complex, and requires the schools working closely together. I never heard of that being successful for schools; just businesses.

>The employer needs to cancel it right?

Your FRIEND needs to cancel her work permit, and potentially the extension of stay (“the stamp”). If your friend is currently on her original Non-B visa (“the sticker”), that will not need to be cancelled.

>Is she covered with visa amnesty

When she cancels her extension of stay based on employment, she will be on amnesty and can stay no later than July 31. However, she can not work while on amnesty.

>As it says, until July 31 right?

No, it is *NOT* until July 31. It is no later than July 31.

> Like no need for her to have border run?

If she is on the amnesty, it is automatic as soon as she cancels her extension of stay based on employment. However, she can not work on amnesty. She will have to leave Thailand, get another Non-B visa for employment purposes if she wants to work as a teacher.

>What is the process?

Generally, she’ll take her work permit and letter of resignation to the labor office and cancel the work permit. She will then go to the immigration office and get the extension of stay based on employment cancelled. She will then be on amnesty.

>Any advice base on experience?

She can not work on amnesty, and the amnesty is not a “goof off” stay in Thailand for free visa.

And if neither Extension of stay or work permit are cancelled?

Are people covered by the amnesty?
