Sorry but are you still working if you have a monthly income in Thailand?

Yes Robert. They are now called an FET. Foreign exchange transaction form.

I've included a link for others in case they are unaware of how it works.

this used to be called a "Tor Tor San", which was required to remit funds back to the original sender, correct?

Your also going to have to prove you transferred the funds in to Thailand in the first place with FET papers from your bank before your going to be able to transfer them out.

So that means your company is going to pay you under the table, no more Thai income tax? Sounds dodgy.

Cool, you just gave me the idea ;-)

No, not marrying that's against my principle but if I transfer my Thai income to the UK, then send it back to Thailand, I would have proof of income from abroad. As I'm with Bangkok Bank, they have a branch in London, it would not even incur transfer fees. I could get my retirement visa based on funds in Thailand and income from abroad.

Sounds pretty weird but might actually work.

As said I did it for 7 years in Krabi, we closed the company but still on Extension of Stay based on marriage but now with proof of income abroad.

Suppose as
@Robert ******
said. It's a matter of trying it out. If it doesn't work in one place, it might work tomorrow at the other counter with different staff. So very interested how you get on

Be careful now. Lots of people call using a computer work, like all those digital nomads. But retired means in Thailand you stopped working so no Work Permit will be given on that Extension of Stay or Visa.

That's the thing, I don't work ;-) I just sit here on the PC, look movies, meet friends. Make sure our staff works. I don't work but still have an income :-)

Since years I would love change my NON-B to a Retirement Visa (I do have the funds in the bank and a monthly income in Thailand) but. If I change in to Pension Visa, I can't get a WP and have a monthly income in Thailand.

So, I have to stay on my NON-B as long as I want to earn money within Thailand.

As said best thing to do is visit Immigration and ask nicely if the have a list of requirements for the Extension of Stay based on marriage and an income out of working in Thailand with a Work Permit. Not all offices want the same documentation and the have those check lists available.

I am definitely confused now. Immigration says one thing, Labour office says something else. For sure, if you earn an income from work in Thailand, you need a work permit. Yeah? No problem on that.

Non-immigrant ‘O’ visas are acceptable for work permit applications and are for any foreigner married to or supporting a dependent Thai National.

Normally though, any foreigner wishing to conduct business in Thailand would have a Non-immigrant 'B' visa.

I did this for 7 years, you need lots of papers, like all the papers normally used for extension of stay based on WP and all the papers for based on marriage. I always visited Immigration days before application time to ask the list. Most of the offices provide a list of required documents in Thai and English.

You can apply for a NON-O if you have a monthly income from abroad, or sufficient funds in your Bankaccount. But in order to have a work permit, you need a NON-B visa
