Travelling to Penang to renew visas next week. I will apply for a 1 yr ME. Do my kids need the same visa as me, or is there a 1 yr Single Entry option?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a 1-year multiple entry Non-O visa, it is unlikely that children will receive the same type of visa. Typically, they may be granted a 90-day single entry visa instead. Notably, children under 15 cannot incur charges for overstaying, and children under 18 cannot be banned for overstaying, which could be a factor in your decision.

I don't think you'll get year-long multi-entry Non-O visas for them. I think you'll just get the 90 day single entry.

The good news is children under 15 can't be charged for overstay AND children under 18 can't be banned for it. So while it sounds bad what I'd do is just let the kids overstay because there is no penalty for you or them

what do you mean, If you are on a yearly extension here your wife (no matter her nationality) can get a matching extension I know two people married to Khmer women who live here and their wives have extensions under the stay with a family member who has a long term extension.

On a O visa Cambodian wife cant get visa... On Multi non B same... So much for open borders... This country is crazy for China.

While you're there you might as well see if you can get them the same visa duration you're getting, I mean all they'll do is say no and sell you a 90 day single entry if they can't do it.

Make sure you have the birth certificates, and maybe write a letter on the company letter head saying it is okay for these children, (name, DOB, passport number) to get Non-O visas to accompany their mother.

Ok thank you for clearing that up.

they will NOT get a year visa, they will get a 90 day single entry only. Then just let them overstay, and if you exit/re-enter the country with them just get a 30 day visa exempt stamp and let them overstay on that :O

They can overstay until they're going to school when you get them ED visas

Yes ok. They don't need the M entry because they don't travel much, so it would be much better (cheaper) this way.

My next question is do you think kids can overstay their visa indefinitely? I guess once they expire they'll just be stamped in for 30 days the next time they travel

You like to apply for a 1 year multiple entry, and what kind of visa do you like to apply for?

Ok. And then I have to extend locally when I get back to Thailand???

they're 3 years and 6 months.

Claudine Nagiah, unless I'm mistaken you will NOT get one year multi-entry Non-O visas for the children there you will get a 90 day single entry.

How old are the children?

From the website, seems like the O visa is the same price as the B. Is that correct?

Trying to figure out if there is a less costly way to do this.

Okay, I think you know that you can only apply for the Non B visa 1 year multiple entry if you have at least 20% of the shares of the company. You're children can apply for the Non Immigrant O visa based on depending on you.

oh sorry, yes B visa for me.
Robert *******
You apply yourself for a 1 year non immigrant B visa or O visa or M visa? If you apply for a non immigrant B visa your children can not have the same visa.

Sorry, I'm not sure I understand the question.

I'm applying for a 1 year multiple entry visa. Just wondering if my dependants need same visa or if I can save some money by getting them a Single entry visa?
