This just happened at Suvarnabhumi:

Came from Vietnam (2 days holiday, no visa run). Having a 1 year Non O ME (Marriage) and a work permit. Grim old visa lady started telling me that I come to Thailand too many times. I told her I am married and work here She replied I can't work on a non O. I told her if I couldn't work on a Non O then how come I got a work permit based on that visa? She said it could be fake and immigration will follow up on my case so I should be prepared. Also she took notes in the system.

Now seriously wtf? Are they going completely nuts now?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience at Suvarnabhumi Airport where an immigration officer questioned the legitimacy of their Non-O visa (Marriage) and work permit, suggesting they had entered Thailand too many times. The officer claimed the work permit might be fake and warned of potential follow-up by immigration. Comments from others reflect similar encounters with demanding immigration officers, emphasizing the importance of carrying proper documentation and seeking assistance from supervisors when faced with issues. The discussion also touches on the challenges and misunderstandings regarding visa types and the rights of expatriates in Thailand.

And as this great news is just news, it is time to close it down. I would say: Look for this old grumpy lady, you might get some questions but she will stamp you inside Thailand, the smart looking, well shaved young gentleman might be guiding you very polite into the detention center. Some people do have their day, some don't, maybe she had a few bad experiences just before you arrived who knows. All what matter is you are allowed to be inside Thailand for another 90 days. Have a nice evening all and take care.

So now we know to avoid a grumpy old lady at Suvharnabumi. Cheers for the heads up ๐Ÿ˜‰

@Adam *********
not just at the airport, that's a life tip mate lol.
Robert *******
He got inside Thailand, I would say go and visit her. She might make some noise but you get the stamp and that is all you want after all
Kay *****
I'm worried about taking a short holiday to Vietnam due to concerns of not being allowed back in.
Rudolf *******
She doesn't like the fact you're happily married with other lady

Most at the immigration even donโ€™t know itโ€™s possible to have work permit on marriage visa, which is the better option in case you got kicked out of your job, nothing to worry. I tried to get mine too on the marriage visa but HR had no clue how to handle so they put me back on B. I never had this issue, but I hold B since 2006, just few month marriage in between when switching jobs.
Robert *******
So the name of your spouse is written on the visa? Where did you get a visa like that?
Robert *******
@Tor***
, Not that strange as there is no marriage visa in Thailand. You may call things what ever you like, but do not expect others to understand
Robert *******
So she did refer to a long history of Tourist Visa, Visa Exempt Entry and Non Immigrant ED visa's and now you stand in front of her with a Multiple Entry Non Immigrant O visa based on married to a Thai National and a Work Permit. Playing devils advocate: When was the work permit issued and when was this visa issued?
Robert *******
Her management is no member or at least not a contributing member on this Facebook page. The only way to answer that question was, walk directly into the office behind these booths and ask or demand that she call a higher level officer.

@Roman *********
She clearly crossed a line and it might be worth to file a complaint

If you are illegal you go jail, not Sawadee khap sir, you can stay for 90 days.
Robert *******
Did you have a problem or did you get stamped inside the country? I would like to read about the problems? I only read about an Immigration Officers who asked some questions as part of their job.

Similar experience I had a few years ago at DM.

Wow, what an unprofessional nasty piece of work.

She might be the same nutcase I met. Plumpy lady that kept shouting at me I'm on too many visa exempt. The supervisor let me through though in the end.
Timothy *****
There are too many such people around. Just bring your visa and entry proof i.e. money hotel return flight and let the supervisor handle things if meet with batty I.Os

Interesting, how could having a NON-O Marriage visa but she complained about come to Thailand many times. Does your visa is "Multiple Entry" visa right ?
Hendri ******
So far as i know, yes it is prohibited to work in Thai with NON-O visa. But what she complained about come to Thailand many times with NON-O Marriage visa is really do not understand.

Too proud to back down, even knowing she was wrong ๐Ÿ™‚
Betty *****
Yup, she was wrong. Nothing will happen. Not a nice welcome back though!
Henry *********
Did you have your WP with you?
Henry *********
@Roman *********
Completely ridiculous if you have a WP. At least you got in. Probably just an ignorant IO.
Mark **********
It really starts to be scary. Being here on a proper visa, being married, having kids with Thai nationality, you are just a nobody... There is a lot behind the fake smile...
Mark **********
Scary... Xenofobic people...
