Do we need to report our 90-day status in person for our DTV visas, or can my husband do it for both of us?

May I ask for help regarding the 90 days report?

My and my husband are both on DTV (not that it matters) and we need to do the 90 days report

My question is do we need to go ourselves or can we use an agent?

Also if we need to go ourselves, can my husband go for both of us?

I am 5 months pregnant and would rather avoid the drive back and forth feom Koh Lanta to Krabi.

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
You do not need to go in person for the 90 days report; either your husband can handle it for both of you or you can hire an agent. Since your husband can report for both, it's a convenient option given your pregnancy. Many respondents suggest trying to complete the process online, but be aware that some immigration offices may require an in-person visit for the first report.

My condo will do this for me. If you are staying in a condo you may want to ask the office if that is a service they provide (my condo charges like 100 baht or something).

No requirement for you to be there in person. It just requires the completed and signed form and the passport. Either one of you can do it or an agent can do it for both of you.

even if it’s the first time? I keep reading the first report needs to be done in person

"in person" means someone has to go to the immigration office. But that doesn't mean it has to be you. It just means the online option isn't available.

Try to do it online. If it don’t work, go by yourself to Immigration or try via an Agent. In some areas you have to 1st at Immigration office, next is online possible

In Istanbul we won it 5 times

I fail to understand how one person reporting for another person counts as 'reporting in person'.. surely the whole point is you attend in person and produce your passport for verification.. which by definition includes a visual test.. easier to do online once you've done your first report in person.. but people that choose to live in remote places need to bear this in mind!

you can do report online or even by post as well as reporting by person, thats the system they have in place. A rather outdated requirement i think

@Michael *******
Yes, i understand that.. but how can a husband report in person for a wife?

because I am dependent on his DTV and because we are married and we are staying at the same place for the same amount of time.

In general, that is not how Thailand works.. visa's (or permissions of stay) are granted to each person individually.. and they rarely grant exceptions.. my non-o visa is dependent upon my wife.. we live in the same house and we will always live in the same house.. but she cannot do my 90-day report for me!

but a visa agent can

It depends on your Immigration Office. You can do it online, but your office may say you have to do it in person the first time.

Actually it does matter that you're on a DTV. I just posted this an hour ago and this is my experience - but in Bangkok although I usually also live on Ko Lanta.
Brandon ************
@James ********
you went to an immigration office that only services work visas, so yes they turned you away. You can't just pick any immigration office you want.

It is up to you to know the requirements for staying in a foreign country for a certain amount of time

another useless comment. I'm aware of the requirements hence why I am trying to do it.

may I share I feel confusion with your comment?

We won’t be going to Bangkok.

And my understanding is that the type of visa doesn’t matter, when staying for 90 days or more in Thailand we need to report.

@Florence ***********
it should be much easier for you at Krabi. My point is that I went to an immigration office to complete a 90-day report but I was told because it is under the category of DTV I need to go to a different office.
Greg ***********
@Florence ***********
you do the 90 days report on the Immigration which serves the area where you reside. there is nothing such as a "special office" for the 90-days reports. There just might be a separate counter inside "your" Immigration office where you will be serviced

@Greg **********
check out Chamchuri Square, Bangkok where I went earlier and spoke with the staff. I was explicitly told that they do not do 90 day reports for DTV holders. They do 90 day reports for other visa types. Others can confirm so I would suggest refrain from commenting with inaccurate information.

a guy on a DTV I know personally, just did his first 90-days report at the Immigration Hua Hin two weeks ago. Now here you are at square one. What should we do regarding your inaccurate information? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Greg ***********
@James ********
there are 85 Immigration Offices in Thailand. YOUR advice is only good for Chamchurri Square Immigration. Now please let us know how the other 84 Immigration offices are interpreting the 90 days report duty for DTV holders πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜„ before you accuse me of spreading inaccurate information !

that's only relevant for bangkok

that's why I said "but in Bangkok".

Do it by mail

Your husband can do it for both of you or you can pay an agent.

Do it online

can't be done at first time

So they say, I’ve done reporting online for years, rejected one day, accepted the next day πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚βœŒοΈ

even first time?

The first time was 9 years ago, do you think I am β€œThe Memory Man” πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

@Gordon ***********
anyone who I know was not successful with the first report online. First at immigration, 2 and after - online
Gordon ************
@Maksym **********
Tell it to the β€œjudge” ✌️✌️✌️
Greg ***********
@Gordon ***********
you need to do the first 90-days report in person on Immigration, in order to get registered in the system. After this, you can do the reports online
Gordon ************
@Greg **********
You must be β€œThe Judge” that I was talking about 😭😭😭
Greg ***********
@Gordon ***********
it's common knowledge in all Facebook Thailand-related groups that the first report must be done physically. And there are reports that the online system will refuse you after you had been outside of Thailand for a longer spell. Because within this period outside of the country, you will be kicked off the system after the 90 days are completed, and after re-entering, you need to do the first report in person, again

@Greg **********
It’s getting like β€œWar and Peace” πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

@Gordon ***********
i used to do it online but when i get out of Thailand and came back... i did it again online and got rejected. I guess the system is the judge.
