Depends allot on location and immigration office. I CM its 45 days, i did it with 42 days left. Bangkok within a week I think.

Most Imm offices are 30 days, some may ask you to come back when you have a week left on your stamp.

At most offices you can go for an extension when you have 30 days left on your existing stamp.

Bangkok and Chiang Mai allow 45 days.

Jomtien usually when you have less than a week.
