Do any of you have examples of hand drawn maps which have been accepted by immigration when applying for one year extension based on married to a Thai?

Need to do mine soon and really like to get an idea of how artistic or how childlike they can be. My drawing skills leave a lot to be desired ๐Ÿฅด

TLDR : Answer Summary
Many expats have shared their experiences regarding hand-drawn maps submitted to Thai immigration when applying for a one-year extension based on marriage. Generally, the level of detail required varies by local immigration offices. Common advice includes keeping the map simple. One user mentioned that a basic drawing of their street with key landmarks sufficed, despite initially creating a detailed map. Others suggested using Google Maps as a reference, emphasizing that a sloppily drawn map could still be accepted. In some cases, immigration officials even redrew rough maps provided by applicants.

this is how "detailed" mine map is and I've used it for 10+ years every year, no questions asked

I do write the address at the bottom of the paper, but that's it

Draw a map from the nearest landmark. It could be a part of checking that you are really living at the location. It depends on your local immigration office whether they accept Google Maps or not.

Attached style map can work as a hand-drawn map.

Mine was sloppy and not particularly accurate. No problem. They barely gave it a glance except to check it off the list as being done.

I spend hours building a beautiful map and was proud of the result only to be disposed of by the immigration officer. I received a blanc piece of paper and was ordered to draw 2 vertical lines, write my steetname in between and a little house next to it. My visa was approved ๐Ÿ‘

I printed google maps page

We were given a required form to use by Chiang Rai Immigration.

Ask at your local office.

I used Google maps easy

My drawing skills are dire too. A number of years ago one of the immigration officers took my rough map and redrew it so I just use photocopies of that now. He wanted a fair bit of detail, the complete 30km route from where I live to immigration including all junctions and traffic lights plus some recognised landmarks

I used to pause from Google maps, the copy paper here is thin enough for that. But a friend of mine used this (see picture) one at Phuket... was also good enough for many years. Last year they finally changed from "hand drawn" to a print out from Google maps with coordinates.

I ask my partner to draw it. Think writing landmarks' names in Thai is easier all round.
