Hi everyone, a quick question:

Do immigration officers at airports/land borders ask you to show ticket to leave Thailand upon arrival, if you are using DTV?

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers arriving in Thailand on a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) are generally not required to present a ticket for onward travel. While immigration officers may occasionally request it, especially if they suspect visa violations, most legitimate long-term visa holders, including those with DTVs, face no such requirement. Individual experiences may vary based on nationality and specific circumstances.

I arrived last Friday with a one way ticket with my partner, we both have individual DTVs and we were not asked for an onward ticket, just to prove we have a DTV, which is the email and PDF download once approved. Easy peasy.

Immigration would rarely ask anyone for onward travel. If they do it’s because they are probably looking for a way to deny entry. Usually this is because they suspect abuse of the tourist visa or exempt entry schemes.

Can’t see any reason they would ever ask for onward travel for a legitimate long term visa holder. But they potentially could.
