Hi guys,

I entered Thailand (Sandbox) under my passport (30 days stay) on 15 Jan. So I have a plan to stay 60 days more by going to the immigration in Muang Thong Thani building.

The stamped expiration day on my passport is 13 Feb. Is it possible to come there around 28 Jan to work on my visa application? Or I have to wait till the closer day of my expiration?

And do you guys have any tips or document requirements for this situation?

Thank you so much, I appreciate every information 💗

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user wants to know if they can apply for a visa extension at Muang Thong Thani before their current stamp expires. Responses indicate that while they can only extend their visa exemption by an additional 30 days (not 60), they can apply for an extension as long as they have 45 days or less left on their current stay.

You can only obtain a 60 day Tourist visa outside Thailand.

You can extend your Exemption stamp with an extra 30 days in Thailand at an IO.

Mind you it's not a visa, it's an extension of stay.

If you entered on visa exempt, you can get a single 30 day extension (not 60 days more).

In Bangkok you can apply when you have 45 days or less left, so you can go any time, no need to wait until you're closer to the date.

I heard they’re being more strict on covid extension because it’s been going on for like two years people just kept extending, the good old visa run will come back, people will have to leave and re-enter Thailand

yep. I heard about it too, since everything is getting back to normal right now, covid visa is not the best choice anymore. I definitely will go there tomorrow or the next day to work on it asap

I'm not entirely sure on the visa exempt status of Vietnam. If it's the same as most, then you must get you're regular 30 day extension first, and after that you can apply for Covid extension
