Do I need to update my TM30 if my tenancy hasn't changed?

On my TM30 receipt, only the initial date of my tenancy at my condo is mentioned, which is April 2021. My contract submitted to immigration was initially for a year. Since then, I have not moved from my condo and have renewed the contract with the landlord every April but I have not followed up on anything at immigration on every contract renewal.

So I'm looking at the receipt again and wondering if it will give me any trouble when I leave/arrive back, and am I correct in thinking that since the receipt does not indicate a "final" date, I assume there is no need to report my status annually. Only until I move to another address. Am I correct?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM30 form is crucial for residence reporting in Thailand. In this case, the user wonders if they need to update their TM30 after renewing their lease annually without reporting to immigration. Commenters clarify that based on local immigration office policies, if the user hasn't changed addresses and only leaves the country temporarily, updating the TM30 might not be required each time. However, if the user stays away for more than 24 hours or checks into a hotel, a new TM30 may be needed. Regular compliance with regulations, especially regarding residence certificates for certain activities, is advisable.

You need to ask your local immigration office what their policy is. Mine changed a year or so ago to requiring a new tm30 on return from abroad. Only the local office can tell you, immigration at the border isn't interested.

You only have to update if you leave the country and return

who would say anything? You haven't gone to immigration. That's the only time you need a TM30.

if you left and haven’t updated it they may give you a break as the changed the rules a couple months ago otherwise you’ll pay a 1600 baht fine

So if you're border bouncing every 90 days you don't use the Immigration Office, why worry about the TM30?

That was with the land borders; I worry the air border is more stringent.

for one you wont get a residence certificate without up to date tm30 which is required for buying a car or bike and other things.

I know, but the OP hasn't said why a TM30 is needed, only worried it might be out of date. If the Immigration services are not needed then I don't see the point in worrying.

I set up the online account yesterday. Normally I don't need Immigration as I stay around 87 days but this time I'm getting a Thai drivers licence so I will need a Certificate of Residence (Sa Kaeo not Bangkok)

I'm at immigration now trying for residence certificate. No doubt it will require at least three more visits before I get one.

no. I have to update it everytime I leave and stay away from home after the hotel or resort I stay at reports tm30 for ne as change of address. If I dont I get problems when doing tm47 or anything else at immigration for that matter.

I report at tm30.io which isn't the official immigration bureau but it works as I have just done tm47 successfully. You have to upload property details along with owner id card and passport.

Or if you stayed at a hotel somewhere in Thailand that asked for your passport

That's up to the immigration office you go to as some are not worried about the tm30,if you have been away from the condo for more than 24 hours in a hotel then you will have to get a new tm30 from your landlord
