Can I leave Thailand with a new passport after an extension on my old one?

Hello everyone, I entered Thailand with a visa exempt and got the extension already. Today I got a new passport from my embassy and the old one is now void. I am leaving in two weeks by air.

The question is:

1. Can I simply go to the airport, show my old and new passports, and get it sorted out there while going through immigration, or...

2. Do I need to go back to Laksi (where I got the extension) to transfer both stamps before flying out?

I would think that since it's a visa exempt, and already extended, number 1 should be alright, but I am not sure.

I would appreciate some insights.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the procedure for leaving Thailand after receiving a new passport while holding a visa-exempt entry with an extension. They asked whether they can present both old and new passports at the airport or if they need to go back to the immigration office to transfer stamps. A community member confirmed that they can simply show both passports at passport control to exit without needing to return to the immigration office.

Yep you're fine, just give both passports to the officer at passport control when you go to stamp out.

They'll note in the new one that you entered/extended on the old passport and stamp you out on the new one.
