Good morning TVA family. I would like to have a question about getting my address from the local Immigration office. My question is if not my wife is the home owner(it is my mother in law)do we need to take her with us? Or it is enough if we take the tabien ban with my wife and we go only 2 of us to the Immigration office? It is not too far from us about 60km but i just want to make sure we not going 2 times. Any information highly appreciated.

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired if they need to bring their mother-in-law, the home owner, to the immigration office to register their address, or if they could manage with just their wife and the necessary documents. It was clarified that they could file the TM30 form without the home owner present, provided they have a signed authorization form from her. Additionally, bringing copies of the home owner's ID and housebook will be necessary, and they were informed about potential fines for not reporting their address within the stipulated time.

The TM28 is when you move to other address. On your other question, don't get confused, some offices want you to report with the TM30 slip they give you the first time, every time you leave the country and come back. But many other offices don't care, just go to Immigration, bring the TM30 and additional papers just in case they ask. If everything okay, you can ask the officer about the TM30 and how they want you and when to report. It is different at every office. Unfortunately not every body post the location of the Immigration Office they are using.

@Ste***
correct, if they don't say anything about it when you apply for a certificate of residence DON'T mention the TM.30 ;)

Please let us know. I move soon and will be using the same office.

so that mean just in case fill in the form and take it with us and maybe if we are lucky enough they will not ask about and maybe i can avoid the fine as well?

I googled around and it appears that the Khon Kean immigration office doesn't care about the TM.30 (alien in residence) form. OR at least they weren't caring about it not that long ago.

Good Luck (y)

Look in the file section and download the form TM30, it is 2 pages. Fill in the details, make copy of ID and housebook of the house owner and bring that with you. With this form you register your address at Immigration, than they can give you the Certificate of Address. Depending on office where you go, you could be fined for not reporting within 24 hours after arrival. Fine is max 2.000 Thb but most offices charge 1.600 Thb.

Did you file a TM30 form, officially 24 hours after arrival at the address?

what do you mean by did i register my address with Immigration? you mean did i gave my current address when i entered the country on the wee blue card?
Robert *******
Only your passport, but did you register your address with Immigration?

yes
@Robert ******
i go for the Certificate of Residence i need for the driving licence. so we dont need to take my wife's mother only a copy from her ID?
Robert *******
You report your address at Immigration with the TM30 form, can download from file section, copy id and housebook of the home owner. If you go for a Certificate of Residence only passport required. Both can be done alone, home owner does not have to be present.

I had to get inlaw to sign one of these

It is down to the home owner to file tm30 and in the OP case if he does it on her behalf law they will want a form signed by her. I had to do this, pain in the arse it was.
