Does my savings need to be in a single checking account for my DTV visa application to Vietnam?

Hello, I am going to Vietnam in a week to apply for my DTV visa. I have a question for you: I have 500,000 Baht in savings, but this money is spread across two bank accounts and three savings accounts in total.

Some people tell me it has to be in my checking account because they have become strict, while other acquaintances tell me it doesn't matter.

Could you please tell me what you think? And if you have any other advice for me, I'm all ears! Thank you
Answer summary
The user is preparing to apply for a DTV visa in Vietnam and seeks clarification on whether their savings of 500,000 Baht, spread across multiple accounts, need to be consolidated into a single checking account for the application process. Community responses suggest that it's advisable to have the funds in one account to simplify verification for the consulate, as having multiple statements may complicate the application. Recommendations also note that showing funds in a single currency and accessible in one's name can streamline the process.

Do you know if it needs to be exactly 500,000 baht? Some say it's $15,000 and others say €15,000, but that doesn't match since 500,000 baht is actually around €13,500

The simplest you make for the embassy folks, the more likely you will be approved. If you have just the bare minimum and it’s spread across 5 accounts (and possibly less than 3 months for some accounts?), you are just taking chances imho.

You're essentially asking a probably tired and frustrated consulate officer to analyze 5 bank statements and do some math calculations to verify the amount of money you have. Good luck with that.

last year, we were at a presentation about the DTV, and this was the sort of response an official gave. Said you have to remember many of these admin things at the consoles. Their first language is not English. If your documents are not straightforward or easily understandable, it is very easy for them to ask for more documents and hope they don't get your application next time.

For what purpose of the DTV visa will you be applying?

Workcation or Soft Power Activity?

If soft power activity... which One and for how many months of the Course are you signing up for?

What's your passport nation?

Where are you now ?

likewise they asked my funds to be in a one single bank statement. Even I needed to convert USD to EUR within same account to show one and only final number. So better have it in one account and in one currency.

Okay, thank you. I've consolidated everything into a single account now, but in the preceding months my money was scattered

I had to move mine into one account when I did mine in 2024. It needed to be in one bank account that I could provide statements for and not a bond

just want to let you know to be very careful. My DTV application just got rejected today because the embassy in Singapore insisted that I show 3 latest months (Mar-May 2026) to have the 500k baht minimum in all 3 months. I don’t have it for Mar and April. I only started to apply the DTV in May where I deposited a huge amount of money which is around USD
*****
0. Even I show them that for May statement, I do have enough funds but they it came back rejected. The embassy wants to see consistency of latest 3 months have the 500k. So even you now convert it to 1 account, your DTV will also be rejected because it has not mature in that 1 account for 3 months.
