Does the 90-day reporting requirement start immediately after switching to a Non-Immigrant B visa in Thailand?

Hey Tod Daniels just making sure my understanding is correct. So my partner arrived last 15 August on visa exemption for 30 days (Philippines passport). We applied for his extension for another 30 days and now in the process of switching to Non-immi B and work permit as he found a job. The calculation of 90 days reporting is still based on his original arrival date of 15 August right? Which means his first 90-day report is due 12 November? He has not left Thailand since he arrived on 15 August. I just wanted to make sure that the “clock” doesn’t reset because of the extension request / visa changes. Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on the timeline for the 90-day reporting requirement after applying for a Non-Immigrant B visa in Thailand, following an initial visa exemption and extension. A comment clarifies that the 90-day reporting does not begin until the individual has received the Non-B visa and its extension.

nope that's totally NOT correct at all

there is NO 90 day reporting on a 30 day visa exempt or a 30 day extension from that OR the initial 90 day Non-B visa that you haven't evidently gotten yet.

In fact their first 90 day report won't even start counting down until they get an extension of stay FROM that 90 day Non-B visa (that they don't have yet)

So get any idea of doing a 90 day report out of your head until they go to get their first extension FROM their 90 day Non-B visa. That's when the immigration office is going to put a small paper in their passport telling them when the first 90 day report is due

The paper will look like this
