Hello everyone. I arrived end of Dec on a single-entry non-O with 90 days validity for the first time. I'm about to leave Thailand again. Can I get advice on whether I need to renew my visa, and how? Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired if they need to renew their single-entry Non-O visa before leaving Thailand, as their 90-day validity is nearing expiration. Commenters clarified that if they are leaving within the visa's timeframe, renewal is not necessary, but advised specifying the reason for obtaining the Non-O visa for further guidance on potential extensions.

you need to be more specific how you got your visa.

Not sure what you’re asking. You don’t need to renew your visa if you’re leaving within the timeframe of that visa. If you wanted to stay longer then we’d need to know the original reason you got the Non O. Marriage, Retirement, Kids, etc.

I don't want to have to apply for a new non o as it is very costly

I'm trying to see if there is a way to extend the visa and get it to become a multi entry one

what was the reason that you got the visa? As asked above.

I am married to a Thai. This is my first non-O

You can apply for a year extension of stay based on being married to a Thai. You need 400k in a Thai bank account in your name only that has been in the account for 2 months prior to applying. If you don’t have that then you have no option to extend your visa.

If you do have the funds, apply for the extension. You’ll be given a stamp for 30 days called a “under consideration” stamp. At the end of this you go back to immigration and they stamp you for the rest of the year. This extension comes with “zero entries” as you are already in country. You may buy a reentry permit to allow you to travel and return. Cost is 1,000 baht for a single or 3,800 for multiple entry.

If money or timing doesn’t allow for this then you’d need to leave Thailand and re apply for a new Non O in your home country.

Can also extend for 60 days based on visiting Thai family.

I kind of skipped that one as OP was asking about multiple entry.

Yep. Just an option for the OP.
