Do I need to prove I have 500 baht in my bank account for a land border run to Malaysia?

Hi,

I am doing my first land border run from Koh phangan to Malaysia and back the next day.

Someone has mentioned that they will ask me to prove I have the 500bhat still in my bank account. As far as I was aware you just go get your stamp , reset your 180days and come back.

Has anyone else experienced being questioned about proving you have the money in your bank account ?

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the necessity of proving they have 500 baht in their bank account during their first land border run from Koh Phangan to Malaysia. They express understanding that they only need to get their stamp to reset their 180 days. Comments from the community suggest that while officials can ask for proof of funds, it is uncommon for them to do so.

okay thank you. After speaking with a my friend I think they were confusing the extension , in which they ask for financial proof.

Anonymous participant definitely for the extension but I've also seen a couple of reports of people being asked to show it on re-entry

Participant(e) anonyme Right. For extensions, no choice. That gives you a hint on what they could eventually expect at the border. But as said, that's not common for now.
