I'm planning to apply for the evisa in Vietnam through Thai soft power (Muay Thai).

I'm currently in Thailand. Do I have to leave thailand first before I can submit my online application on [members only]/

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for an eVisa for Vietnam from Thailand, you must leave Thailand first. The application process requires you to provide your current location, and if you indicate that you are in Vietnam while being in Thailand, it could lead to issues of fraud. Submitting the application while still in Thailand may lead to rejection and loss of application fees.

Suggest you READ THE POSTS... you will know the answer. Especially read the posts about getting the DTV visa with Muay Thai training. There are requirements which must be met.

Sunday I’ll go to Vietnam for dtv also learn Muay Thai

Can you apply as an international through evisa? As doesn’t work for me.

You would have to bare minimum leave to activate it. Personally I wouldn’t do it.

If applying from inside of Thailand, you may be rejected and loose the 10.000+ Baht fee.

you can make a log in account, etc, but you GO to Vietnam and then apply for the visa on line thru the eVisa portal

how do they know if you entered a country, e.g. Malaysia through smart gate without getting an entry stamp, that you are there?

You can't complete and submit the application without committing fraud, if you're in Thailand, but say that you're in Vietnam...

The application process asks you where you are currently located. Later in the process, you need to upload evidence of you being in that location.

"you need to upload evidence of you being in that location."

What kind of evidence would they need? Can a screenshot of a hotel booking suffice?

@Anthony ****
That's one part of it, but some others mention including a photo of their passport, showing the entry stamp to the country, where the application is being made.

If, for the sake of argument, one booked a hotel in Hanoi and used that booking as evidence, whilst they're actually applying from Thailand, it might work. What if they ask for more evidence, such as a photo of the entry stamp to Vietnam?

I'm not saying it's likely, but it's certainly possible. With the e-visa process, if your application is rejected, you lose the fee.

if enter some countries through smart gate, you would not even have an entry stamp in your passport, example malaysia, indonesia....

that's very true!

In that case, I'm not sure how you can truly verify your current location.

Some folks in this group believe that the embassies/consulates can check your immigration status in Thailand. If that's the case, at least they can verify that you're out of the country...

I'm not sure what you're asking. Start your own post.

I plan to stay with my relatives home in Vietnam, how can I provide evidence of this? 🙏🏻

@Anna ******

@Anna ******
not sure exactly. Photo of your passport, showing entry stamp into Vietnam perhaps? I think most people show a hotel booking.
Elías ********
Absolutely yes
Rupesh *******
Yes you need to leave Thailand before you apply… while applying embassy will need your address in Vietnam

@Rupesh ******
how would the embassy or consulate know where in the world you are, especially if you use a VPN? Most are online now, no in person
Rupesh *******
@Klee *************
what about your address and visa in Vietnam… what if they ask you to submit the proof of visa stamp from passport… You can try that through VPN and share the experience
Klee **************
@Rupesh ******
I don’t think they ask that, they certainly didn’t with me, they asked for my address, if you’re staying in a hotel in Vietnam, that is your address, why would they ask for a visa stamp?
Rupesh *******
@Klee *************
did you applied online using vpn and got your visa
Klee **************
@Rupesh ******
no I did not use a VPN, I live in Canada and I applied in Canada, but I could’ve been in Vietnam or Cambodia or Taiwan or China, as long as I have an address in Canada I could’ve applied anywhere in the world
Rupesh *******
@Klee *************
try that again
Klee **************
@Rupesh ******
why would I try again, I already have my DTV Visa???
