Hi everyone,

I'm going to Vietnam for a few weeks next month and my plan is to apply for a another tourist visa when I'm there. Can I apply for the E-visa from my own embassy in finland, the same way i did in march when i came here, or do i need to contact the Thai embassy in Vietnam ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the process of applying for a Thai E-visa while in Vietnam, questioning whether they can apply at their embassy in Finland or if they must do so at the Thai embassy in Vietnam. Responses suggest that applying for the Tourist Visa should be done in person in Vietnam, particularly in major cities like Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.

Apply for the Tourist Visa personally when in Vietnam...in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.

Unless things have changed recently, make sure you have an appointment for HCMC (Hanoi not needed, but contact consulate to make sure).

The best part of the E-Visa website

is that you can check directly if you can apply for the E-Visa with your passport and your location, but I did it for you:

permanent residency/current location. I took that as meaning 'or'. The results were the same for entering Finland, Thailand or Vietnam

I do know that the Washington DC Thailand Embassy has already declined a Thai evisa to an applicant as they were not making application while in the USA.... They were in Thailand.

Because yours is just the checking function from the top page. What
@Rob***
posted above is the capture of when you are "really" applying for a visa.

it then takes you to this page. Very confusing, because that's the start of the evisa application

That is the actual first step to apply for a visa. You need to sign-in. All those before you sign-in to the system is 'FYI' kind of information.

The home page and when signed in give different answers. Whether this is a bug or not, the correct answer is probably the one when signed in.
