Do I need to keep 500k baht in my account each time I enter Thailand on a DTV visa, and how does renewal work after one year?

Apologies if this has been asked and answered however i have just spent the last 30 mins looking. I am looking at the DTV as an option, can someone confirm::

1, Do i need to have the 500k bht in my account each time i enter Thailand ie is there a possibility it will be checked?

2, after 1 year do i need an extension or is it valid for 5 years? The info here is confusing, my issue is if i am not in Thailand on the anniversary i would need to make another trip to renew every year?

Thanks,

TLDR : Answer Summary
The query addresses concerns about the financial requirements for the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) in Thailand, specifically whether the 500,000 THB must be maintained each time one enters the country and the validity period of the visa. A commenter clarified that once the DTV is issued, there is no need to show the funds again unless applying for an extension, and the visa is valid for five years with unlimited entries every 180 days.

Once the visa is issued you never need to show the money again unless you want to stay more than 6 months and apply for an in country extension. Your visa will be valid for 5 years from date of issue with unlimited entries of 180-days

...Until the money will be asked to show. DTV is so largely misused visa type now that i wouldn't be surprised if something would happened with it too (as for example with ED visa > 10.000 deported earlier this year)

if anyone is on a fake or fraudulently obtained visa then fair enough, anyone on a legitimate DTV will be fine for 5 years without proof of funds at the border at re-entry

He's correct. I've been coming in and out of Thailand since December last year and the immigration staff are awesome. Check passport in system, check TDAC, welcome back to Thailand enjoy your stay
