Hey yall! I'm moving to Thailand in August on a student visa
From what I understand the visa is an initial 90 and can be extended up to a year, so I'm assuming I'd have to renew every year for the 4 years of University.
My question is, do I have to leave Thailand and go back? And is there a specific amount of time I have to stay out of Thailand between visas?
Because of money, I'd like to travel as little as possible. Is there a way to renew my visa another year, but stay in country?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The initial Non-ED student visa is valid for 90 days, after which you can apply for annual extensions based on documentation from your university. These extensions can be applied for at the immigration office in Thailand, allowing you to remain in the country without having to leave for renewal. You will need to repeat this process each year for the duration of your studies.
