Hi guys. Not sure if relevant however. Applied for a new British passport as run out of pages via a company (saved time and money as live long way from BKK). I have obviously taken out my TM 6 exit slip. Photocopied picture page / Visa / entrance stamp (valid middle Sept). Question do I need to tell immigration about my getting a new passport? ie if get stopped and searched, which is happening more regularly here.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat in Thailand has applied for a new UK passport due to running out of pages and is unsure if they need to inform Thai immigration about the new passport to avoid complications during searches. The conversation highlights the importance of having a letter from the UK authorities to transfer stamps from the old passport to the new one and advises carrying both passports during travel to ensure compliance with immigration rules.

Thanks Richard.

When you exit the country carry both passports with you. Then get a new visa in the new passport.

My Visa non O multiple entry based on marriage has just expired but I got another 90 days before it ran out. Will need to get a new Visa when I receive new passport.

Are you here on a visa or an extension of stay ?.

You should have got a letter from the UK that you can take to immigration, and they will then transfer your stamp over into the new passport. I believe the UK issue this letter automatically for people renewing from Thailand.
