TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses fines associated with not reporting a friend's stay in Thailand, highlighting that fines can be 1600 baht for oneself and 2000 baht per unreported guest. It's mentioned that if you're simply visiting and not intending to extend your stay, immigration may not impose fines. The level of enforcement may vary by location, with Bangkok noted as being less strict.

Its only a problem if you go to immigration to extend your stay and you haven't checked in. if you are in the country for 30 days only visiting your friend and have no reason to go to immigration they won't fine you. But, if you wish to extend your stay and haven't checked in with immigration then you get fined.
