I just went to Phuket Immigration in Patong for a 30 day extension (visa exemption) and the guy told me I have to go all the way to Phuket Old Town Office instead. There were only two people there being served.
Anyone know if he is BS me or is that genuine?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience at Patong Immigration, where they were told that the 30-day extension for a visa exemption needs to be done at Phuket Old Town. This prompted questions and discussions about the current immigration process. Other users confirmed the information, noting that Patong Immigration is now only handling 90-day reports and advising that extensions must be processed in Phuket Town. Overall, it appears the user's experience aligns with current regulations, highlighting a shift in where extensions can be obtained.
No it’s not you mate. I went about 5 weeks ago to Patong immigration and they advised me the same thing. Phuket town immigration was very quiet so it was a speedy in and out process 👍
yes for most nationalities. You can apply for a 30 day extension some with a bi-lateral agreement have different rules.

If they’re not doing the “regular” 30 day extensions off a visa exempt or tourist visa I’m not sure what they’re doing open. Maybe only for 90 day reports and TM30 filing....pre Covid you used to be able to get regular tourist extensions there.
