Hello wonderful people living in Thailand. I am currently on an education Visa, on my way to Malaysia for a break from Bangkok and to get a tourist visa. I have limited space left in my passport (2 thirds of a page) and am waiting for a new one to arrive but the education visa expires on Thursday so gotta do it now.
I am traveling by sleeper train on the way out. Does anyone know if I either need to fly in or out of Thailand to get the tourist visa?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on an education visa and is planning to travel to Malaysia to apply for a tourist visa. However, they are concerned about the limited space in their passport and whether they need to fly to obtain the tourist visa. Commenters clarified that they don't necessarily need a tourist visa; instead, they can get a 30-day visa-exempt entry stamp by either flying or entering by land into Thailand. Caution is advised regarding proof of funds if crossing through certain land borders.
