Hi!

Do I need to do the 90-day report if I plan to leave the country every 6 months anyway? Or is this only required for those who want to apply for a visa extension? Just curious!

Thank you so much 🙏🏼❤️

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you are required to file a 90-day report if you spend 90 consecutive days in Thailand, regardless of your travel plans or intentions to leave every 6 months. Failure to comply can result in fines and may affect your immigration record.

Until you get to the airport and IO fines you 2000tb so upto you really, everything is linked to your passport, so what happens upon re entry!

90 consecutive days requires a report. There is a grace period of 7 days as in you have 7 xtra days to get the report filed.

Like the people above said you may never get caught, but if for some reason you ever do get pulled over and they run your name or have to go to immigration it’s best to do it.

Or you can take a short trip weekend City break etc just before the 90 days, come back get another 180 days,etc assuming you have a DTV 🤷🏿‍♀️

90 day is 90 consecutive days in the country. The name of the reporting explain itself

You are legally obliged to file a 90 day report every time you spend 90 consecutive days inside Thailand

As long as you accept the risks then up to you :-)

Consequences of non-compliance:

Fine:

A fine of 2,000 Thai baht is imposed for failing to report or reporting late.

Increased fine:

If you are caught by police or immigration authorities without having reported, the fine increases to 5,000 baht.

Immigration Issues: Repeated violations can negatively impact your immigration record, making it harder to renew your visa or secure future visas and extensions.

Yes you do Why would you be an exception 😀

Legally yes, although no-one's ever going to find out if you're not going to immigration
Steve *******
No, you only have to do it if you need to deal with an immigration office while you're here.

@Steve ******
bad advice why not just do what is required

@Anna ********
because it isn't required. That's literally the point I'm making.

90 day report is a requirement and could carry a 2000b fine.

Someone staying only 6 months will only ever need to do 1 report.

You may be confusing the address registration TM30 which is also a requirement, but if you have no need for dealings with immigration, isn't a problem that is tracked.

@Steve ******
it is required perhaps not needed but definitely a requirement

no problem! And don't worry about what some anonymous Facebook profile is saying. You can skip the report

Yes, you have to. It's for all visa holders (Except LTR).
