TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the procedure for a border run to Laos after their 45-day stay in Thailand expired. Respondents clarified that the user must exit Thailand, enter Laos (which involves obtaining a visa), and then return to Thailand with the proper stamps. They also suggested considering a 30-day extension from a local immigration office as an alternative.

Is there a reason you're not getting your 30 day extension first?

But to answer your question, you must stampt out of Thailand, stamp INTO another country, stamp out of that country, and then return to Thailand.

You cannot just stamp out of Thailand, then turn around on the bridge and come back.
