TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, if you plan to stay in Thailand for 90 days or longer with a DTV visa, you will need to fulfill the 90-day reporting requirement. The initial notification must be done in person, and subsequent notifications can often be completed online, provided you meet certain conditions. However, if you leave the country every 180 days, you will need to do this process again upon re-entry.

No. You can stay in Thailand indefinitely. If you survive the 5 years without leaving, you get a Thai passport, a secret grapao recipe and a lifetime supply of Lao khao🥃🇹🇭

Only if you plan to stay 90 days or longer in Thailand.

That you manage to apply for a visa has nothing to do with the term you like to stay in Thailand.
