Do I need to cancel a three month education visa (first one - no extensions) before I leave the country? Or does it naturally expire. I plan on having another ED visa in the future so don’t want any issues

I keep finding conflicting information online

Thanks for any help ☺️

TLDR : Answer Summary
You do not need to cancel your three-month education visa (first one, no extensions) before leaving Thailand, as it will naturally expire upon your departure. If you had an extension, that would need to be cancelled. Previous experiences indicate that you should not encounter issues returning on a new ED visa in the future, but ensure to provide your transcripts if you change schools.

I had one of those a few years ago, but had to leave the country due to an emergency and they simply stamped me out. Returned many times since then and I was never asked about it.

Just so you know, if you want to study Thai again and receive an ED visa, you need to get your transcripts from your former school and hand them over to the new one in case you want to change schools

Your initial visa can’t be cancelled. It will expire when you leave the country.

If you were on an extension then that must be cancelled.
