Two questions: (Planning to arrive on Phuket on Feb 3- Feb 10) so was going to book a 7 day hotel in Phuket and apply for VISA and Thailand pass this week.

1) Can I use Expedia to book an SHA+ hotel for 7 days? And then will that reservation work for the VISA application online as well as Thailand Pass? If the hotel has to send proof of reservation do they do that once Expedia is used to book afterwards?

2) I noticed if I book some hotels in Phuket they mention you have to book two PCR tests, is this something I can book independently somewhere or I have to book through the hotel?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is planning to travel to Phuket and has two questions regarding hotel booking for their upcoming trip. They want to know if booking an SHA+ hotel via Expedia is acceptable for their visa and Thailand Pass applications, and whether the hotel provides proof of reservation upon booking through such platforms. Additionally, they inquire about booking PCR tests separately from the hotel or if they must go through the hotel for this service. Responses from community members suggest that booking directly with the hotel is preferred, as this ensures compatibility with Thailand Pass requirements and facilitates better communication regarding hotel services and documentation.

I just went through this process. I booked through agoda. I recommend booking directly from the hotel.

You will need a letter from the hotel that says you have, Airport transfer, 2 tests and 7 days accommodation. After I booked through Agoda I couldn't get anybody from the hotel to respond to my messages. Eventually I had a Thaifriend contact them and it became more complicated.

I recommend contacting the hotel before you book Make sure you can find a hotel where people will be responsive. Book the hotel, get the letter, etc.

My hotel eventually made all the arrangements for me, PCR tests and airport transfer.

In Phuket, you book your PCR test separately from the hotel. And also note that it is not only proof of hotel reservation, but proof of pre payment for at least the arrival and day 5 nights.

Saying that, I would suggest booking your hotel direct with the hotel site if you can.

There was a notice recently about a hotel booking site not being compatible with the ThailandPass. I’m can’t recall if it was Expedia or Booking.com.

You may be best to book direct with the hotel.

You can book for the PCR tests here. For Phuket airport tests, book and pay here.

If you’re booking 7 nights in Phuket you book and pay for the tests yourself at the moment (arrival and Day5) Booked through PSAS website. Your hotel can tell you best place to book for Day 5. Airport on arrival

no. Arrivals in Phuket are tested at the airport. Yet to see what the requirements will be for the new test and go package where you need to do a test on day 5.
