Do I need to book a flight and hotel for Thailand when applying for a visa with an 'intended date of arrival'?

Hi all, regarding the "intended date of arrival" section of the online application, I have not purchased a ticket yet for Thailand or booked a hotel yet because I have no idea how long my application will take to get approved. Does this mean that I have to book a ticket and hotel for Thailand anyway, even if I miss the flight date because my application approval takes longer than expected and I miss the flight?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a visa to Thailand, you do not need to have a booked flight or hotel reservation. You can provide proposed details for your intended flight and accommodation, and it is acceptable to use fictitious information for this section of the application.

Does it ask for a ticket no does it ask for a hotel booking no. Just put your intended or proposed flight and date, and maybe the hotel you plan to stay at when you first arrive

No. We made up a flight # and a hotel and were just fine. They do not confirm.
