Hi All, we are currently in Ho Chi Minh about to apply for our DTV. My fiance is applying with me as a defacto however it's asking for a copy of the marriage licence? Do we have to be married for me to be added as a defacto on Her visa? Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The applicant inquired about the necessity of being married to be included as a defacto on their fiancé's DTV visa. The community responded clearly that to be considered a dependent on a visa in Thailand, one must be legally married. Several comments emphasized that a marriage certificate is required for all visa applications involving a dependent. It was suggested that the applicant apply for their own DTV visa since they are not married, as Thailand does not recognize defacto relationships for visa purposes.

Yes. Same for all visas. Need to be married.

Just to clarify you each need to apply for your own visa. The primary applies first and once that visa is issued a dependant could apply quoting that visa and showing proof of relationship. Proof of relationship would be birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc. As you are not married you can't be a dependant so would need to apply directly for your own DTV using whatever criteria you meet
