My family and I just changed schools and got our new extension of stay. Because of canceling my old EOS, my multiple reentry was also canceled. My question is do I need a new multiple reentry if I'm only flying within Thailand?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question concerns whether a new multiple re-entry permit is necessary for domestic flights within Thailand after a change in school and extension of stay. The responses clarify that for domestic flights, one does not need to leave Thailand or show a re-entry permit. However, there is some confusion regarding the need for a new permit if one might travel internationally in the future.

I have flown domestically in the last month and did have to show my passport repeatedly but not at immigration as I would when I'm flying internationally. I asked the immigration officer if I even needed to apply for a new multiple reentry if I didn't anticipate leaving the country. I think she did not understand the question because she just kept repeating, yes, you can apply for multiple entry at the airport.

It was the second question. The immigration officer I think could not fathom why I would not want to get a new re-entry permit as I would normally.

What immigration officer asked that? At the airport? You shouldn't be seeing any immigration officers if you are flying domestically.

IF the question is:

"Can I get a new re-entry permit/ multiple entry re-enter permit at an airport", the answer is "it depends". I know Suvarnabhumi (BKK) sells them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I believe some other international airports do as well. You should get an re-entry permit before you leave at the local immigration office, just in case though.

IF the question is:

"Do I need a re-entry permit to fly domestically", the answer is no, you do not cross immigration when you fly domestically.

If you are flying domestic, you are not leaving Thailand, and therefore you do not need to show your passport to board an airplane. Unless there's something I'm missing in your question that is.

. I flew domestic last week with Thai. They wanted passport for ID. Would not accept driver's licence.

. Thai are flying domestic. I'm just relating what happened. I showed licence as I normally do, it was declined and I was asked for passport. That's what happened.

. The question was advice about a passport/visa and I pointed out that for the first time I was specifically asked for my passport for ID. Who gives a crap what airline it was? Would it make you feel better if I edited my comment? Thai Smile is Thai Airways. Some people must be so bored

. That's true, but this is the first time they insisted on passport in all the time I've been in Thailand, several years and many internal flights.
