Hello everyone and thanks for allowing me to join the post. I would be grateful for some advice. I will be applying for an non immigrant O visa soon with the intention of changing this to an O-A visa after I arrive in Phuket.
This is for the purpose of coming to Thailand with my girlfriend who has secured a 2 year employment contract there.
I would like to know if I require proof of onward travel during the process of applying for the O visa (Thai e-visa site) and if anyone knows if the Emirates airline will require this for the flight?
Obviously, I would not need to book a return airfare as I do not
need to at this juncture. I would be flying from the UK.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user plans to apply for a Non-Immigrant O visa to later transition to an O-A visa after arriving in Thailand. They seek advice on whether proof of onward travel is needed for the visa application process and if Emirates airline requires such proof for their flight. Commenters clarify that proof of onward travel is typically not necessary if entering Thailand with a Non-O visa and that Emirates does not check this requirement. Additionally, they highlight that an O-A visa cannot be applied for within Thailand, and suggest the user first obtain a 90-day single entry Non-O visa.
