Im thinking of applying for a retirement Visa from the UK for Thailand but with the online application it wants all flights to and from Thailand. Im planning on coming mid December but it will be via the USA and Korea. Ive got my flights booked all the way through to Chiang Mai over 3 weeks but havnt as yet booked a flight from Thailand back to the UK. As I plan to also visit bordering countries during my stay in Thailand are they looking for my first exit flight or my final flight back to the UK as I never like to plan to far ahead and may decide to pop down to Penang or Singapore and fly back from there.

Any advice greatly appreciated as I dont want to book a flight for say April and lose it if I fly earlier or pay a huge upgrade fee. Would I be able for example to get a flight out of Thaiand to Vietnam as I dont mind losing that if I change my plans.

Many thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An individual from the UK is seeking advice on the flight requirements for applying for a retirement visa (O-A) to Thailand. The online application asks for flights to and from Thailand, while the user has not booked a return flight to the UK as they plan to travel to neighboring countries. The main concerns include whether the application requires proof of a specific return flight and the possibility of booking a flight to Vietnam instead.

Okay its me again....im struggling with this online application. I want to apply for a Type O-A Visa but it continually defaults to O-X and I cant see any options to avoid this. Should I be able to apply for an O-A Visa online? Secondly When I getto the end and its asking me to upload various Documents it is asking for a Biography but what on earth is that??

I am wondering how your getting to the end of the application without choosing the correct visa and uploading each page to be able to see this biography thing?
Ron *******
Yes as
@Rob***
has said. I'll have a £5 bet you selected the wrong long stay option at the very beginning and it's now defaulting back. Perhaps you can be so kind as to let us know if the E visa application website has been updated to include the mandatory Health Insurance for O-A Visa applications.

Go to the home page, click on the folder to finish pending applications, delete all applications, you can even set the date a few months earlier and make sure the status on search is ALL. As long as there is a pending application it will go back to that information. After all are deleted you start with a clean sheet.

Why would you consider a “ retirement “ visa if you plan heading back UK ?. You’d be better off with a 6 month METV

the visa is good for a year from the date it's issued, it's unlimited entry and they can get a new year's entry stamp every time they enter during the validity of the visa.

What would the problem be

?

I thought this would be the best Visa for me to come and go on multiple entries and also get a residence cert and a bank account here.

What is the actual name of the visa you are applying for?

If it is the O-A visa they don't ask for proof of flights. Only the dates.

Its the over 50 retirement Visa Type O-A. I was just about to delete this post as Ive gone online and it only asks for the date of departure but doesnt ask for your departure flight just entry flight.
