Does anyone know if you are applying to 'piggy back' onto a spouses visa and apply from abroad (not from inside of Thailand) does the spouse with the work permit need to be there in person? Specifically in Singapore, but experience with other places appreciated too.

I have been on hold with the embassy in Singapore for agggesss and am loosing the will to live....

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a 'piggy back' visa from abroad, such as Singapore, it is typically acceptable for the spouse to apply alone, as confirmed by the embassy. However, some responses indicated that it may depend on specific visa requirements, such as whether both the main visa holder and dependents need to be present for documentation. Additionally, using the online application system provided by the Thai Embassy in Singapore may simplify the process.

The embassy finally picked up the phone!

It definitely is fine for me to go alone.

Thanks again.

For all the invitation letters, I produced, all followers needed to be added to the main visa holder's documentation. Both visa holder and spouse/followers needed to be there.

The big benefit of the Thai Embassy in Singapore is that you can use their online application, when once approved you visit the Embassy, file the papers used in your online application and get the visa needed. I suggest you make a profile and use this system,

In that case, the only one who can satisfy you is the Thai Embassy. Good luck.

Only because I know that's the case in Thailand. and although I know this is completly different I have quickly learned to take nothing for granted when it comes to Thai visas....

You use this online application, you can access this from everywhere in the world if there is an Internet Connection, this means yourself does not have to be in Singapore. If you application is approved you go and pick up the Visa, why you think you have to be together in the Embassy for application?

Yeah it doesn't specifically say about going alone or whether your partner must go with you.

Not that I can see anyway unless I'm missing it....

I know I'm good with the rest of the paperwork.
