Re-entry permit question: do all parties have to be present for the re-entry permit application, or can 1 family representative go on behalf of wife/kids with all the passports/applications?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement for family members to be present when applying for a re-entry permit in Thailand varies by location. At Bangkok’s airport, all members must be present. Some immigration offices, like Chaengwattana, also require all family members to attend. However, other locations, such as Central Festival in Chiang Mai, may allow one family member to apply on behalf of others, particularly children. It's advisable to check with the specific immigration office to confirm their policy.

Thanks all! This will be at the office in Central Festival Chiang Mai so probably just easy enough to swing through and ask on a free day anyway... or at least not a big deal to have to go back a 2nd day if they need all present.

Don't waste time going to an immigration office, just get it at the airport when leaving. 15 minutes

That’s going to depend on the office you use. Some will allow you to apply for others (usually your kids if they’re in school) but others will insist on all attending.

At the airport (BKK) all will have to be present as they fill the forms in for you and take pictures. Cost 1200 baht/person.
