I’ve spent weeks gathering data for my website and visa widget. You’ll likely be interested in this example, which illustrates
why it "has to be digital":
"In a reported case, a self-employed professional dancer was invited to a 40-minute interview by the Royal Thai Embassy in Vienna, where his self-employment was questioned. Financial proof (€15,000 in liquid funds, well above the 500,000 baht threshold), proof of residence and proof of self-employment were not the issue. What was decisive instead was the nature of the work: his performances and shows take place physically outside Thailand, and he is also paid from there. The embassy did not consider this work carried out “from Thailand” and rejected the Workcation category on that basis. The lesson: what matters is not just whether foreign income exists at all, but whether the work itself can be performed at a screen/computer — and therefore genuinely from Thailand."
