Looking for advice on current rules.

A family member wants to visit in December for just over a week - I know a bit about the Thai pass and the 1 day hotel stay and test but I am just wondering what exactly are the insurance requirements and does a visa need to be applied for beforehand? Does the Thaipass act as a kind of visa or do you apply for the visa first then the Thaipass? The family member is vaccinated and coming from the UK.

Any advice offered would be really appreciated and I know they will likely change again before then but the family member is question is wanting to book soon I think so just trying to understand all the information to pass it on. Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on the current immigration rules and insurance requirements for a family member visiting Thailand for over a week in December. They are particularly interested in understanding whether a visa needs to be applied for prior to travel and how the Thailand Pass correlates with the visa process. The family member is vaccinated and traveling from the UK, and the user is looking to gather reliable information to relay before the travel booking.

Thanks Andy - I did get insurance before I moved here in April. I think the family member will have insurance I am just wondering if there needs to be a specific length that the insurance covers for. For example if its just the time they are in the country or for the length of the visa they would obtain
