TDAC requirements. I will be arriving at BKK for a transit. I will arrive, go to arrival immigration, turn around and go to departure passport check. "Self transfer". I will never leave the airport.

Do I need a TDAC and if so what do I enter for where will I stay!

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are arriving at Bangkok (BKK) and going through arrival immigration for a self-transfer, you will indeed need to fill out a TDAC (Transit Declaration and Acknowledgment Card). Since you will technically be entering Thailand by passing through immigration, this requirement applies despite not leaving the airport. For the address section on the TDAC, you can enter 'Bangkok Airport' as your location since you will not be staying overnight.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be agents.co.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

Yes the TDAC is required.

If you select the same arrival date as your departure date the address will not be asked for.
Ian *****
Of course, you said yourself you enter immigration so you enter Thailand . TDAC not required only if you transfer without going through immigration (ie to another country outside Thailand) .

Put BangKok Airport down as address if you only in and out.
Maitin *******
Every time you go thru arrival immigration you need a TDAC. It's very very easy. 5 minutes to fill out. Make sure to use the government website. You should absolutely not pay to file it .
Stephen *********
As he has said. It’s a self transfer. So he needs to check in for his next flight to obtain his ticket. That’s the reason for going through immigration. So yes he will need to fill in a TDAC with the details of his final

Destination
Carsten ************
If you need to check in to your 2nd leg and to pick and drop your checked luggage, you need the TDAC. If you're coming to Bkk checked through, you won't leave the departure area and therefore you don't need the TDAC.

@Carsten ***********
unless he goes to another airport in Thailand
Carsten ************
@Neil *******
that would be the 1st mentioned case. Not checked-through and going to domestic departure.
Neil *********
The answer is yes if youre going through immigration regardless of transitting or not and it does actually dsy on the tdac cards about transit also
Graham ******
@Neil ********
The OP is actually transferring (said self-transfer) not transitting as the TDAC requires
Phil *******
Why are you going through immigration if it's a transfer?
Lynnette *******
@Phil ******
he said it's self transfer. Which means he goes through immigration, collects bags, then heads to check in for next flight. So he's got to fill in the TDAC arrival card.
Phil *******
@Lynnette ******
self transfer does not necessarily mean he has bags, he could easily have carry on only, and check in online. So no need to go through immigration.
Lynnette *******
@Phil ******
it also depends on his ticket and if he needs to check in for his second flight. He may have to or he may not. Nothing to do with bags. It depends on his ticket.
Phil *******
@Lynnette ******
don't be so dumb, I wrote above that he could maybe check in online, and it was you who first mentioned collecting bags.
Lynnette *******
@Phil ******
It's not dumb. He didn't give the information required for knowing IF he had bags or not. Either way, a self transfer can require check in again and he therefore would need to go out through immigration ( ignore bag carousel) and go to departures for next flight. So my comment is correct. He needs to ask the airline. I've done both. Self transfer ( had to do immigration in BKK) and also transit with a through booking that didn't require recheck in.
Phil *******
@Lynnette ******
you are extremely dumb.

To quote you: 'he said it's self transfer. Which means he goes through immigration' - This is not necessarily true.

'collects bags' - Not necessarily true.

'then heads to check in for next flight' - not necessarily true.

'So he's got to fill in the TDAC arrival card' - Not necessarily true.

You made 4 statements, all of which could be completely wrong, that's pretty dumb. But then to try and defend what you clearly said you come out with a load of drivel. That's very, very very dumb.
Lynnette *******
@Phil ******
it is true if he's 2 separate tickets, which he said he has. So by using your thinking, you too are dumb. I replied as per his limited information. I based it on what is required for 2 separate tickets on 2 different airlines that are not linked as a through flight. You may know more facts about his flight than I do, for some reason, but that does not make my comments dumb.
Phil *******
@Lynnette ******
when the hole you are in is so deep, stop digging. I asked the OP a simple question, you replied to me with a load of BS. Just go away.
Tony **********
Why go through immigration if you're transiting?
Jay *****
@Tony *********
it’s basically two tickets but treated as one
Graham ******
@Tony *********
The OP is transferring not transiting as stated

@Tony *********
there is transit with one ticket and then there is self yransfer which requires immigration
Brandon ************
You said it yourself. You're going to "arrival immigration" which means you'll be entering Thailand and need an arrival card.
Hayes *******
@Brandon ***********
Hello Brandon, off subject but you usually have the right answer. Renewed my passport and arrived in Thailand, went to local IO to move Non O stamp to new passport was told I have go to original issuing IO to move stamp, correct?
Hayes *******
@Graham *****
No Graham I’m on 3rd extension.
Graham ******
@Hayes ******
Correct, you go to the Immigration Office that issued your Extension of Stay (you are not on a Visa are you?)
Hayes *******
@Graham *****
I know each office has its own rules and never gave it any thought till now when needed.
Graham ******
@Hayes ******
This rule I would think is enforced everywhere
Gerry *******
@Graham *****
not correct. I recevied my Non O from an agent in Bangkok and I live in the south. I have had to get a couple resident certificates and the Officer I had to deal with said I could come back to transfer my visa stamps to my new passport and do any 90 report stamps.
Graham ******
@Gerry ******
at what cost?
Gerry *******
@Graham *****
the agent was reasonably priced considering the paperwork. I did the bank and drivers license myself. That was hard enough. $0 cost for 90 stamp. As for transefering my visa stamps I have no clue yet. I will know in a couple days.
