I applied for my Non-Immigrant O [90-day] visa in Belgium 10 days ago. I received my approval by email today. I have a few questions, and I hope someone can help me. Do I need to book a return ticket, or can I use a one-way ticket to Thailand, since I'll be applying for a one-year extension there? Is it still possible to open a bank account with this 90-day visa and a TM30 without going through a visa office? Thanks in advance for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual has recently received approval for a Non-Immigrant O 90-day visa and seeks clarification on whether they need a return ticket for travel to Thailand and the feasibility of opening a bank account with this visa. Community responses generally indicate that a return ticket is not necessary for the Non-O visa and that it is possible to open a bank account, although having additional documentation like a Residence Certificate may be helpful.

i am still ensured as I use an international driving permit which I can get from ANWB. Yes you can by a car or a scooter that’s not dependent on your license
Yes! Bring as much paperwork as you can. I always have a folder with flights, copies of passports, driving licences a A4 page of passport photos. Back in 2012 I came over for 12 months but only stayed 8 months as I ran out of money, I must have tried at least 4 or 5 banks and I couldn't open a bank account. For some reason it was just so dam hard. Now I have a retirement visa, car & bike licence, so all good.
You don't need an agent. As above you don't need an return or onward ticket at check-in (if asked for one ask to speak to the flight supervisor and show your Non-O). A Non-O Visa entry plus a Residence Certificate from Immigration should get you a bank account. Your accommodation will complete your TM30 so ask them for a copy as you'll need it for your Residency Certificate.
Non O visa is excused from onward ticket requirements and you should be able to open a bank account although you might have to try several branches first. Best to bring a residence certificate from the immigration as well.
