TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are on a Non-ED Plus visa, you do not need a re-entry permit to leave Thailand and can return without issues. This visa allows international students graduating from programs in Thailand an extension to look for work or travel, with the privilege to freely exit and re-enter the country.

Its changed this year—no re-entry stamp required—daughter studying in bangkok—got the same

This has been a point of contention because the ED Plus extension is typically given to people AFTER they've graduated from a degree program to allow them a year in country to look for work.

I would ask at passport control when you stamp out IF you need a re-entry permit or not,

Also let's see if other people weigh in

The Thailand Non-ED Plus visa, introduced on July 15, 2024, is for international students studying at universities or institutions in Thailand at the bachelor's degree level or above, allowing them to enter and exit Thailand without needing a re-entry permit and extends their stay for one year after graduation to seek employment or travel.

Bottom line...

NO re-entry permit is needed.

NO Re-entry Permit Required:

Unlike regular Non-ED visas, students with an ED Plus visa can freely leave and re-enter Thailand without needing a re-entry permit.
