Flying direct from Thailand to the UK via Thai Airways. I'm unvaccinated. Do I need a test to board? Trying to get clarity on this from the airline. (I do not need a test to enter the UK).

TLDR : Answer Summary
Passengers flying directly from Thailand to the UK on Thai Airways do not require a pre-flight Covid-19 test, even if they are unvaccinated. However, travelers must complete a passenger locator form before departure. Recent comments confirm that the airline follows the rules set by the destination country, which in this case does not mandate a test, and some users suggest arriving early at the airport to avoid any potential issues.

If you can’t get a direct answer just go to the airport early and if you need one you should be able to get one there πŸ˜€

πŸ˜‰ was fine! can't believe the hotel staff who called the airline tried to get me to an urgent PCR test for 8,000 baht πŸ˜‚

I asked this question a few days ago. Thai Airways follow the rules of the destination country. No test needed and the locator form is finished

This still doesn't clearly state that Thai Airways or Thailand do not enforce boarding requirements separate to the destination's requirements. Thank you though. I wish the airline would answer me.

I have a friend works for Thai. She said nothing needed. In addition if you click on my profile you will see the thread of my same question and the answers.

Some airlines and countries require a covid test for boarding despite the destination not requiring it.

but I need to know if I need anything to get on the Thai Airways flight in Thailand regardless of destination requirements.

Thai Airways only follow requirements of destination. Which for UK is currently, no test, no PLF form.

Thank you. I'll try this tomorrow then as I'm flying at 1pm and don't have time for a PCR test now!

I don't believe they ask for one just ask for vaccination status

I thought the locator forms have stopped too. Or is that from 1st April?

@Joanne ***********
1st I believe but atm you still need to do the locator form... unsure why as they know where you are via passport and to do it coming back to UK is just stupid to me... surely they shoukd try locate you before you depart not when you are going back as guess what... your going back to UK

you don't need a pre flight one for departure to UK
